Unexpected viral pandemic ➡️ Apprehension ➡️ Hyperbole and fear-mongering ➡️ Increased apprehension ➡️ Economic decline and uncertainty ➡️ Opportunism and power-grabs.
Crises are always a dream come true for authoritarian statists. The “revolution” will be televised and it won’t be pretty.
Keep in mind — not to minimize the dangers to some — this is about possibly having flu-like symptoms for a couple of weeks for over 80% of those who catch it. For the elderly and those with other medical conditions, it poses a similar threat that the flu poses to them when complications arise. For this, the schemers and the herd are heading for the nearest precipice.
